HP LaserJet 4 / 4+ / 5 Maintenance Kit Instructions

Remove toner cartridge and paper tray. Turn printer on it's side and replace pickup roller by squeezing tabs together while sliding off shaft.	Use the green hook tool located inside the printer to remove the transfer roller. Hook the shaft just to the right of the gear and lift out.

These parts are only used for manually feeding. If you rarely use the manual feed tray they may not be necessary to replace. You will need to remove the inner black plastic cover by squeezing it in the center. The separation pad is removed by inserting a small screwdriver in the indent and prying off it's seat.
